Jessie is not even close to being a favorite character of mine. However, like most of the other characters in the series, I still like her for certain reasons and characteristics/attributes. I can respect Jessie. Despite the unnecessary ill treatment of Akari, Jessie is a character I can sympathize with.

She grew up in a rough life that only got worse with the loss of her sister. When she finally found a reason to go on (becoming like Midou Tomoe), she made sure she became THE BEST. They don't call her Golden Jessie for nothing. Her devotion to the competition and becoming number one is admirable, but at the same time sad because it became her entire life and she was devastated when she ultimately lost.
