Akari would have to be my second favorite character in the series, almost tied first with Itchan. At first I thought she was okay, but never really gave her anymore thought than some of the other characters. But as I began to watch the series more and more, she really grew on me. Despite her annoying tendencies, I can also sympathize with her. What made her appealing to me is that she eventually overcame her greatest obstacle: her own lack of confidence.
